Upgrading versions 9.00 and 9.01

On some systems, the auto update function does not work well. Here is what happens on these systems:

1. When a new update is detected, AccuTrack will prompt you to download the new version.

2. Once you have downloaded the update, AccuTrack will exit and restart.

3. When AccuTrack starts, you will see this message "Will update and launch new version".

4. The software will then disappear and you will see a "Microsoft Visual FoxPro" window that contains the message "Cannot locate the Microsoft Visual FoxPro support library."

Steps 3 and 4 above will repeat and occur on any computer sharing the database that tries to update itself to the latest version.

Here is the fix for the above issue:

1) Download the updated checkversion.exe file by clicking on the following link:

http://www.accutrack.org/download/checkversion.exe

2) Copy the downloaded file ‘checkversion.exe' to your AccuTrack exe folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Accu90) and make sure you over-write the existing file.  If Windows complains that the file is in use, then either kill the checkversion.exe task via the Windows Task Manager, or reboot your computer.

3) If you did the above correctly, you will see the ‘checkversion.exe' file with a new thunderbolt icon.  Launch AccuTrack as usual.  The update should now proceed without errors.

NOTE: You will need to do steps 2 and 3 above to all computers running AccuTrack 9. To make this easier, put the updated checkversion.exe in a shared folder on your network and copy it from there.

AccuTrack 9.00 Users: Versions 9.01 and latter support a 20 char ID. If you need to use an ID that is longer than 16 chars long and you are starting with version 9.00, contact the AccuTrack support team for assistance.
