Upgrading Versions 8.00 and 8.01

Note: To find out what version of AccuTrack you are running, look at the Windows title bar at the top of any of the AccuTrack administration screens. The version number is shown there.

AccuTrack 8.00 and 8.01 are the older releases of AccuTrack version 8 (released on May 17, 2004 and July 8, 2004 respectively). These early versions do not have the automatic update feature, so to update them to the latest 8 release, you will need to do so manually. Here is how:

1. If you have a more recent version of AccuTrack 8 running on a different computer, you can get the update from that other computer. Go to the other computer and use Windows Explorer to browse the AccuTrack 8 installation folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Accu80). You will find a file called "acutrack.exe" there. Copy this file to the AccuTrack installation folder on the computer you want to upgrade (e.g. C:\Program Files\Accu80) and over-write the existing file (make sure you have existed AccuTrack on this computer or Windows will not allow you to over-write the file).

2. If you do not have a more recent version of AccuTrack 8, then you need to manually download a more recent version. Contact AccuTrack support and request the download link. This link will allow you to download a newer 'accutrack.exe' file. Simply save this file to your AccuTrack 8 installation folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Accu80) and over-write the existing file (make sure you have existed AccuTrack on this computer or Windows will not allow you to over-write the file).

Note: After upgrading to a more recent version of AccuTrack 8, the auto update feature will be working. To use it, click on System Administration -> Help Center -> Download Update. You will see a message informing you whether there is a more recent update than what you have. If you click on "Yes" to download the latest update, the new version will be loaded the next time you launch AccuTrack (make sure the option to automatically update the software is checked in the Options screen -> General Page).
