Hi,
I am unable to start accutrack ver 10 for the past week. The error window appears when i try to run the application (accutrack.exe). The same error is coming in different computers. Can someone help to find a way to fix the error?

Thanks.

We'll be happy to helpl you. First though you need to tell us what error you are getting? For information on how to report an error, see: http://www.accutrack...eport-issue.htm

We are seeing the same problem on all of our AccuTrack installations, including the AccuTrack server.

To duplicate the error:

Run AccuTrack 10 as usual.
A dialog box pops up with the title "AccuTrack Error:":
"Cannot access files. File does not exist."
Click OK (the only option).
AccuTrack does not start.

Reports of this error just started today (7 Feb. 2011).

Unfortunatley there is not much information in that error message. It could be that the the software is trying to update itself to the latest version (we recently released version 10.0.13) and is running into a problem. The software would do this when it detects an update:

1. Rename the current files it will update in the installation folder as a back up.
2. Copy over the updated files from your UPDATES folder to your installation folder.

It could be that the software completed step 1 and then tried step 2 but if failed (e.g. because Windows would not allow it to copy the file to the installation folder). In that case you would now be missing some files, which would explain the error message.

Try doing a manual update to see if that solves the problem. To manually update your installation, simply copy all the files in the UPDATES folder to your local installation folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Accu10) and over-write the existing files. the UPDATES folder should exist in the same folder that has your shared database folder. For example, if your shared database folder is:

X:\AccuFiles\AccuData

then you should also have:

X:\AccuFiles\UPDATES

Copy the contents of the UPDATES folder (NOT the folder itself) to your AccuTrack 10 installation folder and see if this helps.
