The previous tip mentioned using UNC path with AccuTrack. Did you know you can also use TCP/IP? This will enable you to use the data on your file server remotely. For example, if the IP address of your file sever is 123.145.167.8, you could use this path in your AccuTrack Database Location screen:

\\123.145.167.8\Share\Accudata

How is this useful? Well if you can access this TCP/IP path remotely, you can install AccuTrack on your laptop and use the TCP/IP path to administer AccuTrack from home! Of course you will need a network ID and password. You can use your Windows account to log in to your domain with your ID and password, or you can map a drive using the IP address and your login name and PW.

Note: Some AccuTrack users also use Windows Terminal Services to log into their computer remotely, which enables running AccuTrack via the Internet. Here are some links for more info:

JUNE 2008 UPDATE: We now offer more options for accessing AccuTrack via the Internet:
1. We recently released a version of AccuTrack that works with a SQL Server back-end. The SQL Server can be made available via standard TCP/IP connection, which means you will be able to run AccuTrack from anywhere with an Internet connection and it would be using your SQL Server database via the Internet.

2. We also recently released Accudemia, this is a web-based academic center management software. You can find more information at www.accudemia.com.
