System
and Hardware Requirements
Despite its power, AccuTrack only has minimum hardware requirements.
Almost any computer running Windows 98 or later (ME, NT 4,
2000, XP, 2003, Vista, etc.) can run AccuTrack.
For optimum performance, we recommend the following:
Client Computers:
A PC with a Pentium-class processor.
Microsoft Windows XP or later.
128 MB or higher memory recommended.
150 MB of free hard drive space.
A printer for printing out reports. You can use a local
or a network printer.
CD-Rom drive for installing the software. You can also copy the installation CD on a network drive and install the software from this drive.
Super VGA Video Card capable of displaying 16 bit colors at
a screen area of 1024*768.
17" monitor.
Keyboard and mouse.
Microsoft Excel (needed for charting and for some sophosticated
administrative reports).
(Optional) A network card and connection to access the
data remotely.
(Optional) An ID reader. We provide
ID readers that were tested and found to work well wiith the
Server:
If you plan to run AccuTrack on several computers with a shared database, you need to put the database folder on a shared drive on the network. If you plan to run AccuTrack on less than 10 computers, the database can be hosted on a computer running Windows XP Pro or later. However, if you need to run AccuTrack on 10 or more computers, then you need a server to host your database (Microsoft Windows Server 2003 is recommended). You can also use Microsoft Windows 2000 with service
Service Pack 3 or later operating system).
Computer Lab Plug-in
NOTE: If you plan to use the Computer Lab Plug-in software with AccuTrack, your network needs to support the extra connections needed for the Plug-in. For example, if you have a computer lab with 25 computers and you run the Plug-in on each computer, and you have 5 administation stations, your network needs to support 30 simultaneous connections to the database. Since Windows 2000 Pro and XP Pro only support up to 10 simultaneous connections to the database, you will need an operating system like Windows 2000 Server, XP Server, or 2003 Server to host the database.
Apple Computers
If you have a Mac
lab, we recommend you acquire a PC for running AccuTrack. Another
option is to use Virtual PC. Some of our clients had success with this but others didn't, so please use at your own risk.
