We are delighted to announce a new option for tracking your students' visits. The portable data collection device pictured above is called the "RollCaller Collector". Use this device to track visits outside of your center where an AccuTrack sign-in computer is not available. Students can either swipe their ID card into the device or key in their ID number (if you allow it) to record the sign in. The device will automatically record the swipe's date and time.

Each Collector can save thousands of swipes (16,373 to be exact!). When you are ready, simply connect the device to your AccuTrack computer (via a standard serial port) and run a special utility, and the swipes will be downloaded from the Collector to your AccuTrack database! If you use the device for a certain class or tutor, you can configure the system to include the class and the tutor's name with the sign-in record. The sign-in records will become part of the AccuTrack database and will appear in the AccuTrack reports.

The device uses rechargeable batteries. When running in the Extended Power mode, the expected life of fully charged batteries is about 150 hours! The device has a low-battery warning. You can recharge the batteries by plugging the device to your power outlet using an AC Adapter (included).

To use the RollCaller Collector, you will need an ID card with a magnetic strip that has an ID number encoded in track 2 (this is the standard for magnetic strip IDs). The device can be configured to extract the ID from track 2 if the track contains other data in addition to the student's ID.

The system comes with complete instructions for setting up and using the device and its utility. Set up and usage are fairly simple, but if you have any questions you can contact AccuTrack support as usual.

Costs: One time licensing fee of $450 for the utility that interfaces the device to your AccuTrack database. One license of this utility can be used with as many devices as you like. The cost of each data collection device is $499. This includes the Collector, 4 rechargeable AA batteries, AC Adapter, and interface cable (requires a standard RS 232 serial port).
